Kathryn Myers

I started off my martial arts journey at 8 years old in 2004. I had actually joined the ACTIVSTARS program the year before as a cheerleader, but decided it wasn’t for me. I’ve enjoyed learning Shotokan Karate through the program and when I finally achieved my black belt in 2016, I was offered the opportunity to teach. It’s been a wonderful full-circle experience teaching side by side with my sensei, Renshi Kris Wells. I love all the instructors here and the positive environment we’ve cultivated both amongst each other and for the students. Martial arts have had a lasting impact on my confidence and focus and I know that starting early in my life made a big difference.
