Sensei Michael’s journey with karate began in 2003, when he first joined the ActivStars program. His dedication and hard work led him to earn his black belt in Isshin-ryu Karate in 2011 under Sensei Kelly Balliet. In addition to his black belt, Michael has trained in a variety of martial arts weapons, including the bo, nunchaku, Chinese fan, tonfa, eskrima, sai, and even a self-taught sword style that he continuously refines.
Outside the dojo, Sensei Michael’s talents extend into the world of music. He earned a Bachelor’s in Music from Friends University, blending his love for the arts with his passion for martial arts. His goal is to pass on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of martial artists, always seeking to improve himself while inspiring his students to do the same.
